Mara graduated from West Virginia University with a degree in Theatre Technology and Design. After spending nearly a decade producing live theatre and short films while traveling the country, she needed a change of pace and came to us at Team Democracy. The skills she developed over the years include calendar and travel logistics, community and financial management, as well as overseeing and coordinating office administration. Before she left for the open road, Mara founded an online magazine dedicated to uplifting the theatre community in Pittsburgh, PA that she ran for five years giving her hands on experience in startups and small businesses. Throughout her career, she has taken on a variety of operations roles that have shaped her strengths in communication and creative thinking, becoming a forecaster, a facilitator, and a fixer. She has a particular passion for supporting mission-driven organizations which is what led her here.
