Amy Falk Sheldon is a seasoned non-profit leader with more than 30 years of development
experience working with national, regional and local nonprofits. She joined Team Democracy as
Senior Philanthropic Advisor in March 2025.
Amy founded Sheldon Strategic Fundraising, LLC in January 2008 to help nonprofits develop
long term relationships with individual and foundation donors. In addition to consulting, her
previous roles include an 8.5-year tenure as the director of resource development for National
PTA, the largest child advocacy organization in the US. Her high-performing team was
responsible for raising over $6M annually in non-dues revenue from corporate partners,
foundations, and individuals.
Prior to PTA, Amy served as vice president for strategic partnerships for the National Council
for Community and Education Partnerships (NCCEP), an education organization working to
strengthen college readiness and college access for low-income students across the U.S.
She also spent eight years at the American Association of University Women (AAUW). Her
tenure there began as the first development manager for AAUW’s Legal Advocacy Fund, and
later as AAUW’s director of individual giving.
Amy received her B.S. from Northwestern University. She serves on the Board of the
Washington Area Women’s Foundation.
