Whereas America faces growing domestic and foreign threats to The Vote, our most sacred, non-violent tool which we use to select elected officials, enact ballot initiatives, and ensure America’s body politic is rightfully apportioned, And whereas, not since Shay’s Rebellion has our nation faced the existential threat to democracy that was the January 6, 2021 insurrection, And whereas the United State of America’s constitution does grant the power to see oversee elections, I pledge as a candidate for the Alabama State Senate—that as a humble servant of some 150,000 U.S. birthright and naturalized citizens to use the powers invested in me to facilitate the best praxis for holding elections and submitting a ballot—meaning registration, paper as well as digital ballots, legislative districts drawn to enfranchise all instead of disenfranchise few—ensuring “that government of the people, by the people, and for the people shall not perish from the face of the earth.
