Fair, safe and secure elections are the cornerstone of our Democracy. I believe that people with caregiver responsibilities, disabilities, health conditions, or other limitations that impede their ability to access the polls on a specific date can and should be granted access to voting through other means. Our country is technologically advanced, even more so since the pandemic, and we can create an equitable and secure system that achieves both enhanced access and tight security. I do support voter ID laws, but believe municipalities should expand their efforts to secure valid government-issued voter IDs, and ensure access to the vote for populations, such as older American adults who never had or lost a birth certificate.
